Cookie policy

Last updated 19 October 2026. This document is a draft prepared for the site owner and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Items in [yellow brackets] must be completed before launch.

This website (rankpilot.solutions) and the "rankpilot" service are operated by Detrix Digital (detrixdigital.com), legal entity: [full legal name and entity type of the contracting company, to be added by the owner]. In this document "we", "us" and "our" mean that company. "You" means the person or organisation using the website or buying our services.

Registered address: [registered business address, to be added by the owner]. General contact: [email, to be added by the owner].

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. "Similar technologies" include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags and scripts that read or write information on your device. This policy covers all of them.

2. What we use today

At the date above, the public pages of rankpilot.solutions do not set advertising, analytics, social media or other non-essential cookies, and do not run third-party tracking scripts. Fonts and images are served from this website itself. For that reason we do not show a cookie banner on the public pages. The only storage we use is the following.

  • Administration session (strictly necessary, owner only). The login page of our content administration area stores a sign-in session in your browser's local storage so the site owner stays signed in. Visitors do not receive or use this.
  • Form submission. The audit form sends what you type to our database and, as a fallback, to our form provider. No tracking cookie is involved.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records technical request data (see our Privacy policy). This is not stored on your device.

3. If we add analytics or marketing tools

If we later add anything that is not strictly necessary, such as analytics, advertising or embedded third-party content:

  • for visitors in the EEA and the UK we will first show a consent banner with equally prominent "Accept" and "Reject" choices, will not set non-essential cookies before you agree, will list each cookie by name, purpose, provider and duration here, and will let you change or withdraw consent at any time;
  • for visitors elsewhere we will give notice and the choices local law requires;
  • we will respect browser-based opt-out signals such as the Global Privacy Control where the law requires; and
  • we will update this policy and our Privacy policy before the change goes live.

The basis for this approach is Article 5(3) of the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC, as amended) and its national laws, and in the UK the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), which require consent for storing or accessing information on a device unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service you asked for.

4. Controlling cookies

You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings, and many browsers support the Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. Blocking strictly necessary storage may stop the administration area from working.
